Changing Start Menu to Windows Classic View
There are three locations where you can change the look of Windows XP to the Windows 9x Classic view. The first is the general look and feel of the desktop. The second is the Start Menu. And the third is the Control Panel.

ps: clicking an image will get you the full size version.

The Start Menu tag on the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties.

To go from the new Windows XP Start Menu to the old version, Windows Classic, of the Start menu is an easy task.

With the mouse pointer on the Start button right-click the mouse. Select Properties. Now click the bullet next to Classic Start Menu. The default is Start Menu which is the new Windows XP Start Menu.

note: The desktop has already been changed to the Windows Classic view.
